It’ll make do with a 425bhp version of the previous GT4's 3.8 liter engine.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Edit: Yes, the article is about the Clubsport, which always has the same drivetrain as the road model.

Disappointing. I’ll go cancel my order.. .for the next Forza game.

Possible that this is just for the Clubsport?

Grasping at straws, here.

Technically, this is the GT4 Clubsport....but no matter, it didn’t get the new engine.

H opefully the road- going GT4 (and Boxster Spyder) follow suit with the same flat six, which should be close to 400hp.

The Clubs port model always has the same drivetrain as the road  model, which is why I posted.

Oh well, first gen GT4 was great, and more power is more power.

I was just hoping that it’d have the 4.0 and the earlier ones would suffer some quick depreciation.

The 4.0 never made any sense to me whatsoever.  It was a completely unsubstantiated rumor.

I suppose you’re right, but this will be the only application of the old 3.8 across the line, right?

They put the S55 in the new M2, but that was because of emissions. My thought was that the 4.0 in the GT4 would be a similar situation . Since t he Clubsports aren’t street legal, I was hopeful there was something to that.

It is the only application, yes. But the price gap between a GT3 and GT4 is far bigger than M2C and M3.  I also doubt detuning it by %20 would not be as simple as turning down the boost on an S55 to detune it by 20-30 horsepower.

Yup. Guess I’ll have to be happy with an OG GT4, or save my pennies a little longer for a 991.2 GT3 manual (guessing there might be a M2C on my path between here and there).

I didn’t love the M2 when I drove my coworker’s car back to back with the 997.

I’m not sure what I’ll do after the 997. So many lovely Porsches. 718T, 718GTS, 911T, GTS Sport Turismo.  But whatever I get will have PDK.

Maybe it’s time to change my kinja handle..

Have you watched any reviews of the new Competition? Everyone seems to love it (sound is worse, but everything else is better).

And maybe I’ll just have to buy your 997 instead of an M2 ...

PDK because of traffic, just time for a change, or you want those extra tenths with that turbo POWA ?

I’m about to invest a few grand into my M3 (suspension refresh after 120k, and will need a couple new tires come  spring).

PDK because traffic, it’s actually really fun to use, and pairs really well with the turbocharged Porsches I’ve driven. I’d rather have even a base Cayman than an M2C. They’re so good to drive.

I’d love a 991.2 GT3, and absofreakinlotely I’d want it as a Touring.  Manual GT3's are just better.

See, the M2 is on my short list because of my 3 kids, but that really makes zero sense, because that seat behind my 6'1" self would likely be completely useless anyway ...

Since I’ve got the truck now that I drive most of the time anyway , maybe I do need to throw off the old idea of needing a back seat and start considering 2-seaters in earnest. Just have to get Mrs. addiction on board (and get her something newer first).

I wish all my future car dreams weren’t years out!

I’m on the fence on the Touring vs. big-winged GT3. Manual is a given, but I’m conflicted on whether I’d want the “sleeper” looks without the boy-racer stigma, or just go for it for the amazingly beautiful functionality of that wing (screw the haters).

I just want something close to the 911R’s look.  The GT3 front end with the clean wingless look is just so nice.  Especially in a unique PTS color.  With houndstooth seats /drool
